Valorant Patch 1.07: huge Sage nerf, Breach and Vandal buffs

Valorant patch notes for Patch 1.07 have finally surfaced. The update is a big one as it includes many buffs and nerfs to agents and weaponry. Most will be interested in another big nerf to Sage, buff to Breach, and a slight buff to the Vandal rifle. We’ve compiled what we think are the biggest updates in this concise article.

Sage Gets Hit with Another Nerf

Sage had multiple nerfs before. Her healing and stalling ability are her primary reasons for being picked in Valorant. Both of these have been nerfed dramatically in patch 1.07. We already saw Sage not being always picked at top level of competitive Valorant. The following changes may have completely wiped Sage out of top competitive play.

Heal

  • Heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds >>> 60 over 5 seconds
  • Self heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds >>> 60 over 10 seconds

Slow Orb

  • Size reduced by 30%

Barrier Orb

  • Cost reduced from 400 >>> 300
  • Fortifying Barrier: Wall forms at 400 HP—after a 3 second delay, the wall becomes fortified to 800 HP

Breach a Viable Pick Once Again?

Breach’s pick rates have been dismal ever since Valorant went live out of the Beta. Once considered a fantastic agent for setting up teammates, Breach has been having a hard time finding his place in an effective team composition. This major buff for Breach increases his amount of flashes, which is huge to countering those pesky OP players and setting up teammates. Also, now Breach deals Concuss, which de-scopes players. Breach may very well be the perfect counter for the Operator.

Flashpoint

  • Off-screen flashes now match behavior of other flashes in the game and apply a minimum amount of flash more aggressively
  • Charges increased from 2 >>> 3
  • Reduced windup time from 0.6 seconds >>> 0.5 seconds

Rolling Thunder

  • Detonation delay between blasts decreased from 0.3 >>> 0.255

Concussion

  • Concuss now de-scopes players and prevents re-scoping.

Vandal Riflers Rejoice

The Vandal rifle has been quite often left in the shadow of the Phantom. With the slower firing rate, the Vandal was frequently overlooked by many. The Vandal now fires slightly faster and received minimally higher damage. This may lead to some players give the Vandal a second chance. It does, after all, have the ability to one-shot headshot at any range.

Vandal

  • Increased firing rate from 9.25 >>> 9.75
  • Increased damage from 39 >>> 40
