The closed qualifier for the Valorant First Strike Korea event has concluded, with the top eight teams qualifying for the main event.
The event took place from November 12 – 22 and featured 24 of the best teams in the Korean region. The main event is set to take place on December 3 – 6 with an impressive $100,000 USD combined prize pool up for grabs. This prize pool is on par with the European and North American regions.
The format for the First Strike Korea closed qualifier saw 16 teams that came through the open qualifier facing off against each other in the round of 24. The winners of these games would then play against 8 teams that were invited straight into the event in the round of 16. Winning this match meant that you qualified for the main event. All of the matches were best-of-three (BO3) throughout the closed qualifier.
For the most part, the teams that were expected to make it through to the main event have qualified. The favorites to win the main event would of course be Vision Strikers, by far the most dominant team in the region. Some other notable teams to look out for include the likes of Cloud9 Korea, T1 KR and Vision Striker’s sister team, Quantum Strikers.
The main Regional Event should be an incredibly exciting affair, with an incredible prize pool up for grabs. Stay tuned as we will be bringing you recaps of the action as it unfolds.
