The roster previously known as Gamelanders Purple has been signed to Team Liquid. Rumors have circulated since November, but the transfer news was announced on January 9.
As Gamelanders Purple, this roster was a very successful women’s team in Brazil. The team’s record speaks for itself, winning numerous titles, including the final Brazilian Game Changers tournament of 2021, Protocolo: Evolução. Victor Goossens, the Co-CEO of Team Liquid stated the following in the official news announcement: “They’re a talented group of kickass women. Need I say more?”
The team has been together since the beginning of 2021 and the full roster will remain together in the transfer to Team Liquid:
With a basically clean sweep through their competition in 2021, Team Liquid are the favorites to dominate the Game Changers circuit in Brazil in 2022. After potentially conquering Brazil, they will be able to take on new competition at the Game Changers global tournament at the end of the year. Even Melanie “meL” Capone has expressed that the Team Liquid roster would put up a decent fight against Cloud9 White, the top women’s team in North America.
Team Liquid is going to have to watch out as Brazil is hoping to foster competitive talent in this region. With Brazil recently hosting a Game Changers Academy, teams like SELEÇÃO 2022, winners of the PLAYER1 SERIES HERA, are gaining additional competitive experience to try and fight back against the top teams.
