The next iteration of Take The Throne has concluded, with HypHypHyp taking the win in the final as the defending champions. FABRIKEN was denied the potential takeover as the new kings of the tournament after defeating StartedFromCS in the semi-final.
The Swedish team fared well in the semi-final best-of-one (BO1) match against StartedFromCS. The two squads have recently met in the finale of Rise of Titans, where FABRIKEN took the win in the end with relative ease. This time around, ex-CSGO players failed to best FABRIKEN once again. Featuring names such as Vincent “Happy” Cervoni, and Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, we expected a little more fight out of StartedFromCS. At Take The Throne #8, FABRIKEN beat StartedFromCS 13:8 on Bind.
FABRIKEN, then, had to face HypHypHyp. Interestingly enough, the Hyp squad disbanded recently. Nevertheless, the squad featuring, among others, Damien “HyP” Souville and Charles “CREA” Beauvois, decided to regroup temporarily and play in the event together.
HypHypHyp did not let FABRIKEN get close to a win on either of the maps played in the best-of-three (BO3) series. On the first map, Ascent, HypHypHyp dominated on the initial attacker side with a 9:3 score at the half. It was simply a formality for the Hyp boys to close the match out, and they did with a comfy 13:6 victory.
Haven saw FABRIKEN bring at least some fight in the first half to HypHypHyp. The half concluded with a 7:5 initial lead for Hyp squad. Unfortunately, FABRIKEN lacked the edge on Haven’s triple site defense, as Hyp and co. yet again went away with a solid win at 13:7, ending the BO3 with a dominant 2:0 win in series.
In the end, HypHypHyp continues to sit on the throne in Take The Throne Valorant tournament series. Having defended their title, will the disbanded team come together once more to defend what’s theirs? We will probably find out in Take The Throne #9.
