Rumor: New Giants Gaming Valorant roster forming with Davidp, Meddo, and others

Giants Gaming is rumored to be putting together a new Valorant roster. The organization currently has professional teams in CS:GO, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, and Valorant. The Valorant currently consists of an entirely Spanish roster:

  • Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego
  • Salvador “Yurii” Gasco
  • Francesc “donQ” Savall
  • Jon “jonba” Baraiazarra
  • Miguel “eXerZ” Marin

There has been absolutely nothing put out by Giants Gaming, on their website, Twitter, or otherwise, that indicates the above roster is going anywhere. As well, this is a rumor and with all rumors, they should be taken with a grain of salt. It is all per speculation until official sources make an announcement.

The rumored Giants Gaming roster, from Liquipedia’s Valorant Transfer Rumors page, indicates that the following players may be headed to the organization:

  • David “Davidp” Prins
  • Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk Lundborg
  • Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov
  • Vincent “Happy” Cervoni
  • Ričardas “Boo” Lukaševičius

If these rumors are true, Giants Gaming may drop their entirely Spanish roster for one with more international presence.

By now, everyone knows that Davidp has been benched by G2 Esports. It has also been made clear that Meddo is no longer with FunPlus Phoenix (FPX). The remaining three rumored players are all from First Strike participant team, Orgless. A recent screengrab from a pipsoN stream showed a private message on Discord that may give some weight to this rumor.

The translation of the Twitter post to English reads:

Things are looking likely for Giants Gaming to make this move. 2021 is going to see Valorant erupt across the globe. There is no doubt that organizations and players are going to be making waves in order to prepare for the Champions Tour. This would be a massive team formation that would immediately become a threat to every other Valorant team on the European scene.
