The Rise of Valour, Ignition Series event has concluded as EXO Clan were able to defeat Team Launch 3:0 in the grand final. This will be the last of the Riot partner program, Ignition Series events for the Oceanic region.
The event featured a $13,000 AUD ($9,370 USD) prize pool. First place received $6,000, while second, third, and fourth took home $4,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. The event began on September 19th and ended on September 24th.
The event featured an interesting format, with two ways to qualify for the Finals. The first qualifier was the “Play-In Stage”, where sixteen teams played through a double-elimination bracket for the top two spots. The top two teams then progressed through to the Finals, with an advantage.
Two more teams qualified through the “Last Chance Qualifier”, playing through another double elimination bracket. These two teams would also progress through to the Finals, but with a disadvantage compared to the two teams who came in through the first qualifier.
Team EXO defeated Team Launch in the Upper Bracket Final, 2:1. This meant that Team Launch would face off against the winner of the two teams that played their way through the “Last Chance Qualifier”. Team Launch were able to defeat Ground Zero, 2:0. Both of these maps went the distance, with Team Launch winning 13:11 on both Haven and Bind.
The grand final was set for a rematch between EXO clan and Team Launch, with EXO Clan having a one map advantage. EXO Clan wasted no time, as they won the first two maps, 13:9 and 13:6. With their one map advantage, this meant that they won the series 3:0.
