Renegades have officially signed five players to its Valorant roster. The announcement was made via Twitter, as Renegades have decided to pick up the former Big Frames roster that was formed in early April, just as Valorant was released in Closed Beta state.
The Renegades organization, owned by NBA star, Jonas Jerebko, are a massive presence on the esports scene. Sporting notable teams in esports such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, Paladins or Rocket League (among others), it appears that the Detroit-based organization has decided to expand into the growing Valorant esports scene and compete with the likes of T1, G2, or 100 Thieves.
The five players from NA have completed the shift to Jonas Jerebko’s Renegades Valorant team. The squad consists of the following players:
The roster was brought on board from the Big Frames team, that was essentially “orgless”. The five NA players were actively looking for an organization to back them, so that they can continue their venture into Valorant’s competitive scene with a little more cash in their pockets. Interestingly enough, however, Renegades did not pick up the coach of Big Frames, Josiah “Jtrain” Curtis.
The ex-Big Frames roster had some impressive performances and results to back their signing by Renegades. They have placed 1st at Fight Night Arena twice, taken first place at Pittsburgh Knights Tournament Series- Qualifier #1, won the VALORANT Academy – North America; Open Series Week 1. To top it off, Big Frames took home 1st place at Fragadelphia Social Distancing #1 all the way back in April. Apart from that, the team placed 2nd in a plethora of events, such as Nerd Street Gamers- Open.
