A new sort of Valorant tourney has entered the global stage. Red Bull Campus Clutch is a new National and Global level tourney that features university students as they represent their own college on the collegiate global stage in Valorant.
Red Bull Campus Clutch offers a level playing field and a starting point for any up-and-coming VALORANT teams looking to make a name for themselves on the world stage. Teams from more than 50 countries will have the opportunity to develop and prove their skills against players from all over the world, and experience firsthand what it takes to compete like a pro player.
Red Bull Campus Clutch will span “more than 50 countries”, as students will be able to represent their university and compete on three distinct levels of competition; Qualifiers, National Finals, and the World Final. This format is somewhat reminiscent of the official Riot-sponsored event, Champions Tour. In order to enter the World Finals, a team must emerge victorious from the National Champions stage. Qualifiers will take place from February until May 23.
All World Finalists will win a “gaming hub” for the college that they are representing. There’s also prize money involved, as the winners of the World Final will receive a hefty €20,000. Additionally, Riot Games has allegedly guaranteed the winners of the Red Bull Campus Clutch event to be present at the Champions Tour Masters tourney live in 2021.
Naturally, the winners of such an event will be on the radar of many professional Valorant organizations. Winning a global collegiate event is no easy feat. Young, hungry, and aspiring esports pros at the collegiate level may find this event to be a gateway in order to breakthrough to the pro scene.
Red Bull Campus Clutch is a new grassroots event that aims to take university esports to the next level by creating a global structure, inviting students to not only represent their campus, but their country, and pave the way for the next generation of esports pro players.
Red Bull is looking to start 2021 strong when it comes to Valorant. Coming up this week on January 28 is Red Bull Home Ground. The European event features an over $30,000 prize pool and some of the elite European Valorant teams such as G2 Esports, SUMN FC, or Team Liquid. Campus Clutch is Red Bull’s next initiative in the 2021 season, somewhat replicating Riot’s Champions Tour format into distinct stages.
You can sign up for the tournament on the Red Bull Campus Clutch website.
