The Valorant FTW Summer Showdown, which was part of the Ignition Series, has come to an end. The first all-women North American tourney featured 12 teams that took part in the fight for a slice of the hefty $50,000 USD cash prize. The competition took on a traditional group stage, followed by a playoffs, format.

FTW SUmmer Showdown: Group Stage

The group stage saw the 12 contending teams be split into two groups of 6. Top four would move on to the playoffs, while the bottom two teams would be eliminated from FTW Summer Showdown.

MAJKL and GX3 blew out their opponents in group A and B respectively. Meanwhile, Zenitch, GFuel Krabby Patties, Chick Fil Ayy, and Bloom were eliminated from the tournament.

FTW SUmmer Showdown: Playoffs

The playoffs of the all-women event, saw a series of rather one-sided matches take place. MAJKL ripped through their opponents up to the grand final, by defeating Sailor Scouts and Dignitas Female.

On the other side of the bracket, GX3 made short work of opponents of their own, entering the finals against MAJKL with confidence. The best teams of the aforementioned groups met in the grand finale of the tournament.

The grand final saw MAJKL take a relatively easy win against GX3. Ascent was a piece of cake for the MAJKL squad as they dismantled Gx3 13:3. Bind, came a lot closer, as GX3 got a nice lead at the half at 8:4. They didn’t manage to transfer over that mojo on the attacking side, however, as MAJKL mounted on a defensive comeback and managed to clinch out Bind 13:11. MAJKL won the best-of-three (BO3) series 2:0 and are your FTW Summer Showdown champions.

At the 3rd place match, Dignitas Female disappointed against hamboigas. DIG got blown out 13:5 and 13:1 on Ascent and Haven respectively and failed to stand their ground on any of the maps. hamboigas took 3rd place at the event.
