Immortals parts ways with NaturE

There is going to be some serious down time when it comes to Riot Games hosted tournaments for a large handful of teams. Challengers Finals are happening in the Valorant Champions Tour, determining which teams will represent their respective region in Iceland. Those that failed to qualify are basically back to the drawing board. That makes it unsurprising when a roster move is announced. Immortals is one of those teams with time to kill and changes to make. On April 1, 2021 Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison was moved to the bench, citing personal reasons for a break. He was replaced by Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabb. Now, that break has turned into a mutual separation as Immortals seems to be sticking with their current roster.

Immortals parts ways with NaturE

During Stage 1 of the Valorant Champions Tour, Immortals showed a side of them not yet seen. They did make it to First Strike, but were eliminated by Team Envy in the Quarterfinals. The Valorant Champions Tour was their time to cement their place in the Tier 1 North American Valorant scene. NaturE was the mastermind behind their hot streak.

Immortals dominated the Stage 1: Challengers 1 competition. Starting with the first open qualifier, the team won 10 straight matches. This included victories over Sentinels, Team Envy, XSET, Cloud9 Blue, Gen.G Esports, and Luminosity Gaming. The tear was stopped short of a Grand Final victory as Sentinels got their revenge in the Challengers 1 Main Event.

After that Grand Final appearance, things have been a bit up and down for Immortals. Lately it has been more down than up, however. The Immortals squad made the Main Event of each Stage 2: Challengers series, albeit without NaturE. The Lower Round 2 of those tournaments saw their demise, however.

Failing to qualify for Challengers Finals and not getting a shot at Masters Reykjavík has to be disappointing for the Immortals team. This could just be the start of an Immortals roster shake up. It is uncertain exactly what personal reasons pushed NaturE to take a break and eventually split from Immortals, but Run It Back wishes him nothing but the best in the future.

The Immortals roster currently remains:

  • Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar
  • Noah “jcStani” Smith
  • Andrew “ShoT_UP” Orlowski
  • Rhett “Kehmicals” Lynch
  • Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo
