How to Check How Much You’re Spending on VALORANT

VALORANT is “free to play.” That phrase is kind of loaded, because usually games of the “free-to-play” persuasion have lots of optional content players can be spending money on. In the case of VALORANT, said optional content can range from cosmetic items (like new skins for your guns) to unlocking new characters faster.
We’re not here today to discuss the ethics of the free-to-play model in video games. That’s another whole can of worms that has been discussed at length elsewhere. If you’re playing VALORANT in the first place, you’re probably cool with the model, whether you’re spending money on it or not. That said, with many free-to-play games, VALORANT included, it can be possible to lose track of how much you spend, since individual items can range widely in price.
This is a guide to track how much you’ve spent on VALORANT. With this, you can easily determine if you’re breaking your own bank on VALORANT goodies.
The first thing you’ll want to do for this is to head over to the support page for Riot Games in general.
Make sure the Support page looks like this when you arrive so you know it’s legit. There are a lot of scammers out there and you can never be too careful.
Before we proceed any further, it’s important to log into your Riot Account so you can get your personal information. As per the above image, click “Sign In” in the upper right hand corner. The login screen will look like this:
In case it’s not obvious, you type in your username and password in the appropriate fields to log in, then click the arrow that appears. Once you do so, proceed.
The VALORANT section of the Riot Games’ support page will look like below. Click on the VALORANT icon.
On the next page you’ll need to do some scrolling. Scroll down the support page until you find the following icons. Then click on – you guessed it – “Purchases and Earned Content.”
On the next screen, click on “Checking Your Purchase History.”
If you’ve followed all the above steps, including logging into your Riot Account, the next screen should look like this:
From here, click on the big red button that says “Get My Purchase History,” and you’re golden!
Checking your purchase history is useful for more than just making sure you don’t spend too much. It’s also a good way to check for fraudulent purchases. Your purchase history will include all the monetary transactions you’ve made for VALORANT, the date of each transaction, how much each one was, and the payment method used for each. Usually the transactions listed are for in-game Riot Points, obviously used for in-game items. What this method won’t tell you is what you’ve spent those Riot Points on. That’s a topic for another article.
