Guild Esports parts ways with draken

Roster changes are inevitable in a game like Valorant. Coming out of Masters Reykjavik, teams are looking forward to Stage 3 of the Valorant Champions Tour. They all want to ensure their best team is in place ahead of Masters Berlin. Each region has seen a handful of shakeups, some small and some large. One of the recent EMEA region roster moves has seen Guild Esports part ways with William “draken” Sundin.

Guild Esports parts ways with draken

The esports organization co-owned by David Beckham entered the Valorant scene in October of 2020. Guild Esports signed the orgless squad known as Bonk. All but two of the original signees remain on the Guild Esports roster after the separation between the org and draken.

This is the first change to the competitive Valorant roster since the January 19, 2021 signing of Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel and coach André “BARBARR” Möller.

Draken added to the announcement of his release from Guild. He had nothing but great things to say about his former organization and the team members he spent a large portion of his Valorant career with. Draken indicated he wants to continue competing, but is taking June and July off to recharge with family and friends.

There is no doubt he will land on a roster worthy of his skillset. Any team who signs him when it returns from his short hiatus will find themselves with a dedicated and talented performer.

As for Guild Esports, the roster now hosts only four players and a coach:

  • Malkolm “bonkar” Rench
  • Yacine “Yacine” Laghmari
  • Leo “Leo” Jannesson
  • Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel
  • André “BARBARR” Möller (Coach)

Stage 3 of the Valorant Champions Tour begins toward the end of June. The organization will certainly have a fifth player added prior to that. Guild has been fairly successful in the VCT thus far, coming just two wins short of representing EMEA at Masters Reykjavik.
