The GGTech Invitational events have concluded with Estral Esports winning the LA-S division and Infinity Esports triumphing at the LA-N division.

The GGTech Invitational consisted of two events hosted for teams within different regions of South America. It was part of Riot’s partner program, Ignition Series. These were split into the LA-South (LA-S) and LA-North (LA-N) divisions.

The events ran from September 7-19 and each one featured a $2,500 prize pool. First place took home $1,500 and second and third place received $750 and $250 respectively.

The format of each event consisted of sixteen teams playing through a best-of-one (BO1) group stage. The top two teams from each group would move on to a single-elimination, best-of-three (BO3) playoff bracket. The grand final consisted of a best-of-five (BO5) series.

They continued this form into the grand final, winning 3:0 against Rainbow7. Infinity Esports consist of a predominantly Colombian roster, with one player from Guatemala.

TopHard Esports finished the event in third place, after a forfeit win against Kaizen Esports.

Estral Esports was equally dominant in the LA-S region, mirroring the results of Infinity Esports. They managed to win the entire event without dropping a single map, as they defeated Furious Gaming 3:0 in the grand final. The Estral Esports roster consists of four Argentinian players and one Chilean player.

9z Team defeated Catolica Esports, securing themselves the third place finish at the event.

GGTech Invitational was a great event to shine the spotlight on regions that don’t usually receive much attention from Valorant’s public. Events like this demonstrate what Riot are trying to achieve with their Ignition Series events, which is global exposure. Especially for teams outside the usual Europe or North America regions.
