Gen.G Esports announced this morning that legendary ex-CS:GO pro Sean “seangares” Gares joined their team as a content creator.

The Story of Sean Gares

Sean Gares is best known for the time he spent playing for Cloud9 from 2014 to 2015. He took a break from competitive gaming and made his debut as an analyst at the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals on December 10, 2015. Sean later went on to play for Echo Fox, Team SoloMid, and Misfits Gaming before once more becoming an analyst once Misfits disbanded in 2018. He was present at the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 and at other analyst jobs. To date, he attended 14 seasons of ESEA Invite.

In Valorant, Sean was a commentator at Face Off, FaZe Clan Invitational, and First Strike North America. He even played in some tournaments like Cloud9 To The Skyes, AORUS Xtreme Showdown, Pittsburgh Knights Boomer Bowl, and Rarity Found Invitational. Other than that, he frequently streams Valorant on Twitch where he makes it obvious that he’s still got what it takes.

In the welcome video, Sean mentioned that Gen.G is even allowing him to keep his streaming schedule so it seems like a beneficial partnership for everyone. We’re super happy he was able to find an organization to represent and that he can continue doing what he loves on a bigger scale. His first official Gen.G stream is happening right now (at the time of writing this) as a watch party for Gen.G’s match against Immortals at the Valorant Champions Tour Challengers 2 qualifier.

What do you guys think of this partnership? Do you think Sean will ever go pro in Valorant? As usual, remember to follow us at Run it Back and join our Discord for all your latest news, extensive guides, and exclusive interviews in the world of Valorant.
