FURIA sweeps Australs to qualify for Champions

The South America Last Chance Qualifier has finished and FURIA Esports is headed to Champions, representing Brazil. The group stage saw them lose to Australs 2:1, but they persevered through the remainder of the tournament.
As the initial stage of the SA LCQ ended, Australs, Havan Liberty, Gamelanders, and FURIA found themselves as the playoff teams. Three teams from Brazil and one team from Chile. Some would say the outcomes were surprising, but one thing is for certain, FURIA was hell bent on making it to Champions.
Here’s how it happened.
The Semifinals started with Australs taking on Havan Liberty. Havan Liberty underperformed at Masters Berlin and were ready to get back on the international VALORANT stage. Australs had other plans, however, taking them down 2:0.
HL just couldn’t get it going against Australs as Francisco “kiNgg” Aravena and company decimated any strategy they had. Australs waited for the winner of Gamelanders and FURIA.
The match up between two of Brazil’s finest VALORANT teams delivered. Many expected Gamelanders to take this one, but Alexandre “xand” Zizi had other ideas. Putting up a total of 59 kills on Jett across three maps, he helped his team shut GL down.
The 2:1 ending saw Gamelanders edge it out on the first map, but the final two maps were not even close. That put all eyes on a group stage rematch with Champions on the line.
FURIA put the group stage loss to Australs in the review mirror. All they wanted was a shot at Champions and they took it with no remorse. It was like a different team joined the server as they absolutely brutalized Australs with a quick sweep in the Grand Final.
This time, it was Agustin “Nozwerr” Ibarra on top with 51 kills throughout the series. Astrauls had not lost a series in the entire South America Last Chance Qualifier until the Grand Final. Perhaps FURIA wasn’t showing everything in the group stage meeting? Whatever the case may be, we have our South American LCQ winners who are on their way to Champions.
Congratulations to FURIA Esports!
