Stage 3 of the North American VALORANT Champions Tour is so close we can almost taste. Plenty of organizations feel that way, as well. They are making the moves necessary to compete with the best of the best. One team who hopes to continue their winnings ways and then some from past Stages is FaZe Clan. The addition of Hunter “BabyJ” Schline is them pulling the trigger on changing up a roster that got them far, but perhaps not far enough.

FaZe Clan gets another baby in the form of BabyJ

BabyJ is officially a member of FaZe Clan with fellow baby, Andrej “babybay” Francisty. This comes shortly after Team Envy announced the acquisition of Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen through a loan. Needless to say, this is a huge shakeup to two of the more established teams representing North American VALORANT.

Both will be looking to make an impact right away in the open qualifiers of Stage 3 Challengers 1. BabyJ, coming from Halo, has proven himself to be a formidable competitor in VALORANT. Most known for his stints with Team CryptiK and the iconic Str8 Rippin, his Halo career formed the path that would lead him to Riot Games’ first-person shooter.

His time in VALORANT saw him compete with the orgless team known as Prospects during a large portion of 2020. In 2021, he competed in Stage 1 Challengers 2 and Stage 2 Challengers 1 with NSIC and Rice and meatballs, respectively. Both times, his teams fell to 100 Thieves in the qualifier.

Now, he has FaZe Clan at his side. FaZe was, at one point, the hottest team in all of VALORANT. That slowed down in Stage 2, but they are looking to pick up the pace once more. BabyJ could certainly help with that. Congratulations to him and best of luck to the team as Stage 3 Challengers 1 approaches.
