Following an interesting teaser video posted by the British esports organization Excel Esports a couple days back, it has finally been revealed that the team’s first addition to the Valorant roster will be David “davidp” Prins. This has also been teased by davidp himself on his own Twitter page.
With more and more organizations cashing in on the Valorant hype train, Excel is yet another org to join the fight. Having active rosters in both League of Legends, as well as Fortnite, Excel Esports has dipped its toes in other titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League in the past. Valorant will see the return of the org’s admiration for first-person shooters, as that’s where the true roots of the establishment lie, at Call of Duty.
We are yet to see which player’s will join the new Valorant roster. As of now, Excel Esports is a one-man team with davidp at the wheel. There are still four more vacancies to fill with some up-and-coming talent to the European scene.
Following davidp‘s exclusion from G2 Esports after a disappointing run at First Strike in December of last year, the Belgian has been inactive on the scene. This move sees davidp return to a fresh, and hopefully hungry team. With Masters 1 already set in stone, davidp and co. will probably be eyeing qualification for the next Masters event, which will be held on LAN in Reykjavik, Iceland, and will be the first ever international Valorant LAN event. With the experience davidp acquired at G2 Esports, the Belgian is surely the right man for the job.
