Right before the start of Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Challengers 2, Excel Esports have finalized their Valorant roster. The move comes on the back of the organization’s acquirement of David “davidp” Prins, who was brought on as the team’s first addition, as well as captain. One day prior to this announcement, Excel has also brought on coach Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson and assistant coach Sam “Fields” Greenfield.

Excel Esports Enters Valorant

Including the team’s captain, davidp, Excel Valorant roster looks as follows:

  • David “davidp” Prins
  • Vincent “Happy” Cervoni Schopenhauer
  • Alend “Ale” Khalaf
  • Marc “Honeybee” Begley
  • Morgan “B1GGY” Madour

All players of the new Excel roster have an impressive resume. Happy is naturally the most known out of the bunch. After a rich Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career, Happy transitioned into Valorant and played for Prodigy, Orgless, and most recently, Vodafone Giants. With the Orgless roster he reached the First Strike Europe main event. Ale hails from the predominantly Nordic medley HSDIRR. At HSDIRR, Ale reached 9th-16th at VCT Europe Challengers 3 qualifier for the Masters event. They were cut short by Ballista Gaming. Honeybee was part of the First Strike Europe medley, Purple Cobras, that reached the main event. He was later part of the team “unsigned” with whom he competed at VCT Challengers events.

Lastly, B1GGY is also an CS:GO professional who played for Epsilon eSports as well as Heretics. He was Valve banned from events following a match-fixing scandal while at Epsilon. He later became the coach of Team Heretics before receiving an ESIC coaching ban. B1GGY retired soon after and is now trying his wits in Valorant, dipping his toes here and there before coming into this Excel roster.

The fresh Excel Esports roster will be competing at the upcoming VCT Challengers Stage 2 in Europe. The new team will be trying to shake things up on the scene and qualify for the Masters 2 event which will be held as the first international LAN event in Reykjavik, Iceland.
