Cloud9 expands to Korea; signs Cloud9 Korea Valorant roster

Naim "EnKay" Rosinski

American esports organization, Cloud9, has decided to expand its horizons and have signed a South Korean Valorant roster. Apart from their North American Valorant team, which features Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, Cloud9 will now be able to compete in the Asia region with the brand new Cloud9 Korea roster.

Introducing Cloud9 Korea

The fresh roster of players is comprised of the following South Korean talents:

  • Junki “Bazzi” Park
  • Kim “DoYa” Do-gyeong
  • Yoo “Moothie” Seung-woo
  • Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom
  • Kang “Try” Tae-wook
  • Yoon “Autumn” Eu-ddeum (coach)

All the players possess previous esport experience in different titles. Moothie is an ex-Apex Legends professional. Both, Try and DoYa, are coming over from the respected battle royale title, PUBG. Lastly, Bazzi and Munchkin have competed in the Overwatch League. Bazzi carried the Hangzhou Spark banner, while Munchkin was signed to the equally famous Seoul Dynasty team.

This isn’t the first time we see North American organizations expand to the Asia region. Apart from having an Academy team, T1 has also expanded to Korea by signing the RESET team to its Korean roster at the beginning of August. With the ever expanding Asian esports scene, American organizations are looking to widen their reach across the world by investing into another region. Perhaps soon we will see more top tier American orgs join T1 and Cloud9 Korea in such novelties.
