CLG Red, the popular all-female team hailing from CS:GO, will make its way to Valorant according to CLG’s latest tweet.

The team will be led by Benita “bENITA” Novshadian, a long-time member of CLG Red who retired from CS:GO in June of 2020. CLG will reveal the initial three members of their new Valorant squad, according to the official blog post.

CLG Red and Valorant’s Female Side

The CS:GO CLG Red team is one of the most well-known female teams in the game for a reason. They have multiple first-place finishes under their belt including DreamHack Showdown Winter 2020: North America, DreamHack Showdown Summer 2020: North America, and WESG 2019 Female North America among many others. BENITA was a part of that team for most of those wins which makes her a great player to lead the new team.

“I’m so honored and proud to be the in-game leader and captain of this new project,” bENITA said in the blog post. “It’s a dream to have multiple games within the Red brand.”

CLG Red will join a number of other female Valorant teams including Dignitas Female, Celeste Esports, Cloud9 White, and the newly-announced Moon Raccoons Black. Dignitas Female is the only team we have heard of that competes in both CS:GO and Valorant.

The Valorant scene has been very accepting of female players since its creation. Many exclusive tournaments like FTW Summer Showdown, Women’s Community Festival, and Gaming Culture – Girl Pwr have popped up to promote inclusion in the scene. Hopefully we will see a female team take on a male team in the future as well.
