The group stage of the Ignition Series, CGA Pacific Open concluded today after three days of play. The playoffs are set to continue on August 21st.
The event features sixteen of the top teams from the South East Asia region, with a prize pool of $20,000. This prize is split with first place receiving $13,000 and second and third taking home $5,000 and $2,000 respectively.
The group stages ran from August 17-19, with the playoffs scheduled to take place from August 21 to 23. Teams were split into four groups of four and played out a round-robin group stage. All matches during the group stage were best-of-one. The playoffs, however, consist of a single-elimination bracket, with all matches being best-of-three (BO3), except the grand final, which will be a best-of-five (BO5).
The teams competing in this event are listed below:
Group A saw a three-way tie with BOOM Esports taking first place due to the round differential. The second and third placed teams had the same round differential and as a result, a tiebreaker match was played. This took place between MOTV.gg and Attack All Allround, in which the latter claimed victory.
Sharper Esports and ahq e-Sports Club made it out of Group B with a 2-1 record. Thailand Attitude and Team SMG had similar results in Group D, both making it through to the playoffs with a 2-1 record. Fives were the only team in the group stage that didn’t drop a map, winning Group D with a 3-0 record. Meanwhile, Only One Word were able to secure second place in Group D.
