The German organzation BIG announced on Twitter that Nico “Obnoks” Garczarczyk joined the team as their fifth player.

BIG were looking for a player ever since Alexander “Ultimate” Pauls left the team at the beginning of January. According to one of Liquipedia’s “trusted inside sources”, he left “in order to make a working education for himself.”

Prior to joining BIG, Obnoks played for a Swiss esports organization called SPARX Esports and an orgless team called VPD’s Finest. The latter attempted to take part in First Strike Europe, but they fell in the qualifier. He is no stranger to the BIG roster though, as he was a stand-in for the team at four tournaments from January 19 through to the 26.

So far, BIG’s results in Valorant are decent. Despite making it past the First Strike Europe Qualifier, they fell in Play-In #2 to L’institut. January seems to have been a good month for the squad, with first place finishes at Agent’s Range – Agent’s Rising #4 and #5 and the Moeckern Masters League #1. They even tried to qualify for Red Bull Home Ground but fell to an orgless team called FrenzyGoKill, that ended up qualifying for the event.

BIG’s signing comes just in time for the Valorant Champions Tour Qualifier, whose signup phase lasts until February 6. Perhaps the strength of the Germans will be enough to overpower all the team at the VCT. Keep an eye on our coverage and we’ll be sure to let you know!

BIG’s complete roster is now as follows:

  • Fatih “gob b” Dayik
  • Alexander “alexRr” Frisch
  • Ceyhun “AslaN” Aslan
  • Michele “zonixx” Köhler
  • Nico “Obnoks” Garczarczyk
