The world of Valorant has been alive this week with teasers for the game’s potential new agent, “JohnsLatte.” Let’s go over the things we know so far.

The JohnsLatte Rumors Surface

A silhouette of the new agent was teased on the Amazon page for the Valorant WWFEST, a virtual music and art festival. Following that teaser, a clip began floating around on Twitter of blue splash footsteps appearing randomly on Icebox.

Valorant leaker ConstantValorant did what he does best and went file digging. He found wallpaper files with the name “JohnsLatte”, confirming the new agent’s codename. He also found files relating to JohnsLatte, or Jlatte, that mentioned an ability using ferrofluid. Ferrofluid is a liquid that is attracted to the poles of a magnet. It also happens to look exactly like the splash footsteps on Icebox.

In a YouTube video he put together, he talks about the likelihood that JohnsLatte is one of the samurai on Icebox that escaped from his tube. Those samurai also seem to be exposed to the gas-like radianite, which would make them radiants. Exposure to radianite is known to cause impressive strength, which could explain how one of the samurai broke out. The existence of a samurai on the loose is also proven by the flashing “Intruder Alert” signs on Icebox.

Rounding all of this up, the new agent could be an escaped super samurai with some kind of invisibility, ferrofluid-related ability. If movies have taught us anything, it’s likely he won’t be very happy with the experiments done on him. It’s all some pretty deep lore and we’re excited to see how Riot presents it all.
