Absolute JUPITER signs makiba to VALORANT roster

Jalen Lopez

Absolute JUPITER announced the sixth member of its VALORANT roster, makiba, just in time for the VALORANT Champions Tour Japan Stage 3 Challengers 1 open qualifier.

makiba previously played on the CNCI BlUE BEES roster. This team competed throughout VCT Stage 1 and managed to make it into the Masters 1 event. They did not win a match in the event and lost their first match against Absolute JUPITER.

makiba formerly played CS:GO, and his skillset easily transferred to VALORANT. His new team referred to his playstyle as bold and full of youth. The organization is also confident that he will “breathe new life into the team.”

“Nice to meet you. My name is makiba and I am the sixth member of Absolute JUPITER.” makiba said in the official announcement. “I am a student professional gamer, but I have no intention of losing to a full-time professional. Thank you for your support!”

Another chance To succeed

According to vlr.gg, Absolute JUPITER is currently ranked third in the Asia-Pacific region. The team has dominated its home region but fell short in the Stage 2 Challengers Finals against Crazy Raccoon. The team has another opportunity to make it to an international event in Stage 3. A six-man roster creates more variety and ways to counter any opponent. The team also has three coaches, which is an excellent source of guidance and feedback.

Absolute JUPITER will compete in Group E in the VCT Japan Stage 3 Challengers 1 open qualifier on July 4.

The Absolute JUPITER roster is as follows:

  • makiba
  • Ushida “Laz” Koji
  • Maruoka “crow” Tomoaki
  • Takebayashi “barce” Ryo
  • Takemori “takej” Shogo
  • Oshiro “Reita” Ryu
