After a weekend packed with Valorant goodness, Sentinels have come out on top in the 30Bomb Summer Cup tournament. In the finale of the event, Sentinels faced Team SoloMid (TSM), a team that sought revenge after getting blown out at PAX Arena Invitational with a 0:2 loss. Sentinels, however, prevailed once more to continue their undefeated run in higher-tier tourneys.
Sentinels by now means had an easy road to the final of 30B Summer Cup. Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan and co. had to defeat the likes of Renegades, Immortals and TSM to get into the final. In fact, because of the playoff featuring a lower and upper bracket, Sentinels beat TSM twice, once in the semifinals with a 2:0 score, and once in the final. In the finale, Sentinels had the upper hand as they were awarded one map point due to coming in from the upper bracket.
Meanwhile, TSM were on a journey of their own to the finale. After defeating Built By Gamers and Gen.G Esports, Sentinels continued their venture in the lower bracket. Once again they had to face Gen.G, and, as expected, once again they came out on top with a clean 2:0 victory.
Sentinels went on to win the first map of the final, Split, putting them up 2:0 already, and only needing one more map point to win the series. TSM retaliated by bagging Haven at 13:8. However, that would be all she wrote, as TSM’s rivals narrowly took home Ascent at 13:10. Sentinels won the final 3:1 and are the champions of 30Bomb Summer Cup.
